NYIT provides free online tutoring and other study resources to students via Brainfuse. Online tutoring supplements the Learning Center’s services and provides a way of accessing expert help and/or resources at any hour, from any device with internet access.

NYIT students have access to support in the following subjects:

Mathematics
Physics
College Writing
Life Sciences (Biology and Chemistry)
Business
Accounting
Resume Help
Computer Literacy
Many subjects are available for you to connect with a live tutor 24 hours a day! You can also upload writing drafts to get comments and suggestions within 24 – 48 hours!

Please note:

When using live tutoring, make sure you are prepared with a question before you connect with a tutor. Extra hours will not be approved if past sessions are found to be unproductive, or too dependent on tutor guidance.
Each student is allotted 10 hours of Brainfuse live tutoring services. Please use your time effectively. In the event that you reach your limit of hours, contact the Learning Center on your campus at [email protected] (Old Westbury) or [email protected] (Manhattan) with your name, NYIT ID number, and a reason for your request. Your past usage will be reviewed, and a decision will be made whether or not additional time is warranted.

To connect to Brainfuse, log into your MyNYIT student portal. On the right side of your screen, click Online Tutoring under Student Resources.

If you have questions about Brainfuse services, feel free to contact the Learning Center on your campus:
