High Quality Tutors

Consistent, Qualified Tutors

Live tutors with subject-area expertise in math and ELA, supported by training, coaching, and ongoing performance monitoring. District oversight and background check requirements are supported.

Small-Group, High-Frequency Instruction

One-to-one or small-group tutoring (up to three students per tutor), delivered multiple times per week and aligned to grade-level standards.

Flexible Scheduling Models

Tutoring that fits district needs, including during the school day (outside contractual time where applicable), after school, summer, or hybrid implementation within the grant period.

Data-Driven Instruction

Formative assessment and progress monitoring aligned to state assessment categories, with reporting structures that support interim and final grant requirements.

Human-Led, AI-Supported

AI tools may support instruction or logistics, but tutoring is always led by live educators. AI-only tutoring models are not used.

Designed for Eligible New Jersey Districts

This grant opportunity is limited to New Jersey Local Education Agencies serving students in grades 3–8 whose average proficiency on the 2024–2025 NJSLA in ELA and mathematics was below 50 percent.

Brainfuse works with districts to:

  • Support eligible student populations
  • Deliver tutoring in ELA, math, or both
  • Integrate tutoring within existing intervention and MTSS frameworks
  • Scale services based on award size and student need

Program Models That Fit District Schedules

Brainfuse supports multiple tutoring models to help districts implement high-impact tutoring in ways that align with local schedules, staffing, and student needs.

In-School Tutoring

Tutoring delivered during the school day, outside of contractual instructional time where applicable, and integrated into existing intervention or MTSS structures.

After-School Tutoring

Live tutoring sessions provided outside the school day to extend learning time and support students who need additional help in math and/or ELA.

Summer & Hybrid Models

Flexible summer and hybrid options that allow districts to begin services after May 1, 2026, and continue support through the 2026–27 school year.
