6 ways the Pima County library can help your kids with homework

Ok, we all know our local library system is rad.

But, did you know about all of the amazing homework help it offers for free?

There’s online tutoring for kids in kindergarten through college, in-person tutoring, in-depth biographies, ABCmouse (learning program for kids 2-6) and much more. And it’s all free. You just need a library card, which is also free.

Here’s an overview of some of the library’s offerings and links to the online resources that you can access with a library-card number.

Get help with homework at the library. Tutors are on hand to help kids of all ages with math, science, social studies, language arts, writing and ESL.

Check with your specific library to see if it’s drop-in or by appointment, as some of the libraries operate differently.

A library instructor will be available to help out with basic math, basic science and writing as well as help in locating resources available to assist in learning. Plus you’ll have access to E-Readers and E-books.

It also has a writing lab and live help for language learners.

The program is for students from kindergarten through college. Even adults can get some help.

This online resource includes an array of tools for elementary, middle and high school students including test preparation, extra help on assignments and skills boosting in core subjects.

It also has tutorials on various computer software.

Does your child need to write about a famous athlete or inventor? Biography in Context makes it easy to find articles and news about people from today and in history. You can access this from home, since it’s online though you need to be signed in with your library card number.

You’ll find fast facts and information about states, countries and cultures all online.
